DJ Dat Gurl Curly

DJ Dat Gurl Curly (aka Elizabeth Ruiz) is a Lower East Side, Manhattan-born DJ and dancer with a multicultural background. Operating under the motto “dancer before DJ… thus the Sounds of a Dancer,” she is celebrated for her infectious energy, incorporating dancing while mixing and preserving New York’s deep and soulful house music culture. Born and raised in New York City, DJ Dat Gurl Curly developed a profound love for music through dance. Wanting to recreate the euphoric feeling that veteran DJs gave her on the dance floor, she started mixing in 2006. This foundation birthed her signature motto and overall style, “The Sounds of a Dancer”. She blends genres including Soulful House, Percussion House, Afro, Latin, and Disco.
